Affiliation with Habbo ruled out

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): After receiving many enquiries via email on a similar web radio service provided by a social networking site - operated by Habbo, the Hub has decided to clarify the matter by ruling out the possibility that Habbo has any association with 'CHiLL-REX!' whatsoever.

Fans and friends started to contemplate on the Hub's radio existence since it has now gone on a hiatus pending the Conglomeration Ceremony that will be held in Singapore on Sunday. Unverified sources claimed 'CHiLL-REX!' has tapped on Habbo to operate its web radio services as there was such a station named 'ChillRex'.

A 'CHiLL-REX!' spokesperson denied these allegations and recapitulated that the Hub is an independent station and will run its own radio operations and it need not be supported by any other service provider in radio terms.

When questioned about copyright trademark and infringement matters, 'CHiLL-REX!' said the alphabets on their logo is unique with 'i' always in the small letter form and that Habbo was merely creating/hosting a small talk show, naming it 'ChillRex' within their radio programming.

'CHiLL-REX!' said it will neither pursue the matter nor is keen on partnering with Habbo citing strategic differences.

Critics are important elements: President, KEN LO

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): This article is published in response to the critics that slammed 'CHiLL-REX!' for its radio programming as headed by Vice-President designated for Radio, Anita Boh and the Hub's President has acknowledged the critics for their presence.

President, 'CHiLL-REX!', Kenneth Lo, appended that he does not agree to a certain extent of the critics' comments but is in favour of their presence and their recommendations to the programming aspects of the entire situation.

In addition, he also considered critics as important elements to radio programming because of their constant comments that will keep 'CHiLL-REX!' relevant to the eccentric and dynamic styles of radio enthusiasts which will help in adapting with changing lifestyles.

Furthermore, he expressed, "Challenge ourselves. Having critics just means our programming are popular with fans, even the best shows have criticism but we have faith and we know we can pull through this chapter. Critics are critical for our success!"

Founder and Director-General, Damian Cheong, remarked that 'CHiLL-REX!' does not superimpose or credit the critics for their remarks and comments but acknowledged and ascertain similar criticisms do not happen again.

Radio programmes slammed by critics

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): The radio arm has landed itself in hot soup again. Radio critics who prefers to be unnamed but have a decent amount of experience in the industry have now slammed comments on radio show programming.

As quoted in a report filed by 'NewsRush!' for archiving, critics felt the programmes lacked original ingredient and the constant hiatus is causing inconsistencies and irregularities.

Vice-President designated for Radio, Anita Boh, responded by reiterating that the programmes are periodically adjusted to suit the listeners' preferences and certainly, not every programme is designed to please everyone but the main aim is to engage everyone.

She added, "I quote from an avid fan of the show that our programmes reflects on how oriented the show is and how eloquent our show presenters are upon each and every delivery."

A radio spokesperson reassured that there are no plans for any changes and all radio show programming will remain the same, as it is for now.

Six Board of Directors and Partners' Representatives to give public speeches at Conglomeration Ceremony

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): With the Conglomeration Ceremony happening in exactly two week's time, the Board members have announced that they will be giving public speeches as an update on the four new arms as it is being launched.

The six board members scheduled to speak would be Director-General, Damian Cheong, President, Kenneth Lo, and the four Vice-Presidents managing the four arms, namely, Anita Boh (Radio), Ding Xiang (Music), John Yeo (Event) and Chi Heng (Club).

DIRECTOR-GENERAL

It is expected that Damian will be covering on worldwide issues such as the progress in other countries, apart from Singapore, major partnerships that the Hub has inked recently as well as the future prospects of 'CHiLL-REX!'.

PRESIDENT

The second elected President, Kenneth Lo, will be explaining the need for this conglomeration to take place, citing various examples and how far 'CHiLL-REX!' has progressed over the years.

VICE-PRESIDENTS (RADIO, MUSIC, EVENT, CLUB)

Vice-President for Radio, Anita, is expected to touch on radio shows, the 'CASYS' server, the programme lined-up and what listeners can expect in the near future. She will also be disclosing plans for the highly anticipated mega-show 'JAM IT UP 50!'.

Senior Vice-President for Music, Ding Xiang, will be speaking on music productions in 'CHiLL-REX!' and the future plans on original compositions and compilations of songs that the Hub has to offer.

Vice-President for Event, John Yeo, is expected to announce plans for event management. He will cover the events 'CHiLL-REX!' has overseen in the past years and will be revealing other exciting events that the Hub has planned as well.

Finally, Vice-President for Club, Chi Heng will be focusing more on manpower resources, such as, the recent 'Fresh Voices!' campaign he is overseeing in Singapore and Malaysia and also, the usage of media platforms. He will also be covering on networking within and around the Hub, together with its partners.

PARTNERS

Representatives from the Hub's two partners, 'DJ Club' and 'NewsRush!' will also be giving short speeches during the Conglomeration Ceremony.

Journalism club, 'NewsRush!' accepts 'CHiLL-REX!' as parent company and becomes its partner

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): Journalism club, 'NewsRush!' has inked a deal to officially accept 'CHiLL-REX!' as its parent company.

Initially, it was just a news reporting club which was fronted by journalism and camera enthusiast, Lawson Lau. Director-General, 'CHiLL-REX!', DJ Damian (Cheong) is the other founding member for 'NewsRush!' as well.

In a statement by a 'CHiLL-REX!' spokesperson, he mentioned, "Great accomplishment for us once again! And we are proud to be its parent company, giving them as much support as possible, to the best of our abilities."

However, 'NewsRush!' will not conglomerate together with 'CHiLL-REX!' but only be an associate partner, in the same case as ITE College Central's CCA (Co-Curricular Activity) group, 'DJ Club' - its partnering web radio, music and event hub.

'CHiLL-REX!' will officially welcome 'NewsRush!' to be part of its family during the Conglomeration Dinner and Ceremony event on September 20 at Orchard Central.

Subsidiaries to retain blogs and email accounts: VP (Club), CHI HENG

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): At the previous Board meeting, questions were raised with regards to the conglomeration in Singapore and the question that topped it all was if the subsidiaries' (namely, 'CHiLL FM', 'REX! RADiO', 'FreezeRoll!' and 'cubeclubbing') blogs and email accounts were still going to function as per normal.

After much consideration, the Board has decided to retain the media platforms that the subsidiaries once used. This will serve as a reminiscence to the club. As such, come 1 September 2009, this news update will be officially announced.

Vice-President (Club), Chi Heng, expressed, "I am delighted that we get to keep our blog sites and email accounts as our fans will still continue to connect with us through those mediums. It would be such a waste to see it go. So, we kept it."

With regards to the conglomeration ceremony that will take place at Orchard Central on 20 September 2009, CEO (Singapore), Terence Goh has stated that the proposed programme is expected to be released and published within the first two weeks in September 2009.

Conglomeration Ceremony to be held at mega-mall Orchard Central

'CHiLL-REX!' (Singapore, SINGAPORE): The conglomeration ground-breaking dinner and ceremonial event has been confirmed to be celebrated at mega-mall Orchard Central.

This was the ideal location chosen by the Board. ION Orchard was the original location that was chosen but the Board changed its mind at the eleventh hour citing convenience issues.

According to a Facebook event page which has already been published as part of its viral marketing publicity, it stated, "The Board of Directors are coming together for a dinner followed by a short conglomeration ceremony to mark the ground-breaking of a new era for the club at mega-mall Orchard Central."

"'CHiLL FM' & 'REX! RADiO', together with 'FreezeRoll!' and 'cubeclubbing' will all conglomerate as one, becoming 'CHiLL-REX!'. Followed by the dinner and ceremony, the Board will tour MediaCorp Radio Lush 99.5FM's latest radio studio at Orchard Central Level 2 (The Runway)."

The conglomeration ceremony will take place from 7pm to 9pm on 20 September 2009 as it is an auspicious date and most of the Board members are expected to be present at the event.

More radio shows gradually return following positive reviews; 'CASYS' server to be re-installed: AVP (Radio), ANITA BOH

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): The Board has recently conducted its month-review on all-time popular request show, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' after its 'Computer Automated Systems' server or in short, 'CASYS' came crashing down which prompted for an instant temporary halt.

Reviews concluded that radio shows have managed to garner a fair bit of listeners and revealed that it has surpassed the club's targets with more listeners streaming in from abroad rather than in the home country that it is based, in Singapore.

Assistant Vice-President (Radio), Anita Boh, added, "Since our radio shows re-premiered on July 13, we have had a slight increase in listenership as compared to the same period last year, according to reports from the former VP for radio. I am contented that it has reached our targets and am certain we will go further and bring more radio shows back to complement our current listenership, fans and friends as well."

Moreover, more shows are slated to make a come-back which includes, 'KiDS!' - a dedicated children show hosted by DJ Kiddy, 'JAM 10@10!' - the countdown chart show and theme shows such as 'Retro!', 'iGNiTE!' and 'UnderGround!', amongst the others.

Currently, there are only two shows active on air which are 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' - the only request show and 'Next Generation!' - an album review show.

The Radio arm which has recently been troubled by its 'CASYS' server problem will be re-installing new add-ons to refurbish its standards and hopefully, there will be less issues in relation to its server technical faults.

Consider cyberspace as a powerful platform: Secretary-General, QZ KOH

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): In this age, the usage of new and mass media is increasingly important and common. Therefore, 'CHiLL-REX!' has decided to think of ways to utilize it for future prospects.

Internet itself holds a lot of knowledge and with the proper strategic goals that the Board has set, it can rely on cyberspace as a form of platform or a stepping stone towards another milestone.

Secretary-General, QZ Koh, appended, "My initial idea was to create something new, maybe an e-Magazine and publish it onto the web, attracting readers and 'customers' and thus, earning some form of revenue. In this way, people can come to us should they need any sort of information and entertainment or rather, infotainment."

The Board is scheduled for a subsequent meeting where the Secretary-General will propose his ideas and the President will decide whether or not to give the go-ahead.

'CASYS' server breaks down 17 times within a month period forcing radio programmes to be taken off air

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): The Radio arm has been troubled by this latest incident when it tabulated a report for its 'Computer Automated Systems' server, or 'CASYS', in short.

Things became so bad that the Board of Directors decided to pull all-time popular request show, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' from its scheduled time slot and began to probe into the matter following a month's review. It was taken off air on 19 August 2009.

Live song updates were unavailable periodically at other times too and there was once when the Twitter site was down, inevitably forcing 'CASYS' crashing down as well.

Sound Engineers are now trying to figure out what exactly went wrong and how the situation can be improved. However, it was noted that should it experience a break down again, it is difficult to recover from it as the main server, Flatcast, is constantly heavy with users from across the world.

Assistant Vice-President (Radio), Anita Boh, reassured fans that all radio programming are put well in place by sound engineers and that back-up maintenance server systems will always be on hand to facilitate in any circumstances.

Singapore launches its 'Fresh Voices!' campaign

'CHiLL-REX!' (Singapore, SINGAPORE): Singapore on Thursday launched its 'Fresh Voices!' campaign and its main target was to recruit Music and Productions Directors.

Initially, the campaign was scheduled to launch some time in October 2009, according to a report released by the CEO (Singapore), Terence Goh. Furthermore, Malaysia has already launched this similar campaign on August 1 by former CEO (Malaysia), Jack Yuen.

However, the Board decided that Singapore be given the green light to proceed on and added that the entire conglomeration progress should not be seen as an obstacle but rather, an inspiration for new ideas.

Thus, on August 12, the campaign's official launch date was brought forward to 20 August 2009 and viral marketing were implemented on social networking sites, Twitter and Facebook to aid in the speed of the recruitment process.

Foster relations with CCs: VP (Event), JOHN YEO

'CHiLL-REX!' (Singapore, SINGAPORE): As the club prepares for its ground-breaking ceremony for the conglomeration of the entire entity on 20 September 2009 at Orchard Central, Vice-President (Event), 'CHiLL-REX!', John Yeo has called on the club to foster ties with local Community Clubs to seek out more event opportunities.

Motivated by great interest, John brought up this idea to the Founder & Director-General, DJ Damian, about a couple of months ago during a meeting discussion on the update of the conglomeration progress.

Following an extensive research analysis, the Board of Directors realised that this could be an excellent opportunity for the expansion on the event arm of 'CHiLL-REX!'. Further reports also suggested that the club, under the guidance of John, is planning to work with the CEO (Singapore) Terence Goh, and decide on which concept which would be the best to undertake.

The plan will be on-track once the Vice-President (Event) and the CEO (Singapore) confirms the favoured concept. It will then be brought up to the President, DJ Ken Lo for final endorsement. Meanwhile, DJ Damian will remain as adviser to this latest project.

Board of Directors reshuffles thrice in six months; New President & Vice-President (Club) elected

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): 'CHiLL-REX!' has appointed new members to the Board again. This is the third time in less than a year that it is switching Directors. It is definitely for the better but it may cause inconsistencies, as quoted by one of a fan club member, who declined to be named.

DJ QZ who recently returned as Vice-President (Club) has now been transferred to being the Secretary-General, assisting the newly-elected President, DJ Ken Lo.

As such, DJ Ken Lo will relinquish his position as Deputy Director-General and helm former DJ Damian's pose as the newly-elected President. Eyebrows were raised as to why DJ Ken Lo was the chosen candidate although it was widely speculated that the successor will come from one of the four Vice-Presidents heading the four distinctive arms.

Hence, Founder & Director-General, DJ Damian expressed, "DJ Ken Lo was chosen by me and approved by the Board as he had attained a year's experience with his previous portfolio as the CEO (Singapore) in the year 2008. He certainly has the vision to be my successor and will confidently continue from where I left."

Meanwhile, as DJ QZ is now Secretary-General, Chi Heng has been appointed as the new Vice-President (Club). Apart from being the Productions Director previously, Chi Heng has considerable experience, as he was also one of the host for the mega year-end countdown show, "JAM IT UP 50!" alongside, DJ Damian and DJ QZ, amongst the others.

The other two Vice-Presidents, John Yeo and Ding Xiang and the Assistant Vice-President, Anita Boh managing the other three arms remains unaffected by the reshuffle.

'CHiLL-REX!' now in six countries, with the latest being Thailand

'CHiLL-REX!' (Worldwide): 'CHiLL-REX!' has yet again, undoubtedly ventured further around the region. After launching in Vietnam, it has gone to launch another base in São Paulo, Brazil in South America - the first country out of South-East Asia and the Asia continent itself.

Founder & Director-General, DJ Damian, explained that the generic basis in setting up bases around the world is to promote music from mixed genres and languages and also, to publicize 'CHiLL-REX!' as a music fan club.

It is understood that all countries, except for the headquarters based in Singapore, is currently only concentrating on one of the four wings of 'CHiLL-REX!'. As other countries takes some time to form up, they will only be heading one arm at the moment.

Malaysia will be dealing in Events, Vietnam and Philippines in Radio, Brazil and Thailand in Music. The Radio arm focuses on radio programming while the Music arm focuses more on music productions.

As of 15 August 2009, all six countries have their designated-respective CEOs and are reportedly to be active both locally and internationally.

'CHiLL-REX!' launches in Vietnam

'CHiLL-REX!' (Ho Chi Minh City, VIETNAM): 'CHiLL-REX!' has ventured into the region around its headquarters based in Singapore and this time, the club has decided to launch a franchise in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Although Hanoi is Vietnam's capital, the club has decided to push its operations to Vietnam's largest city, namely in Ho Chi Minh City.

Newly appointed CEO (Vietnam), DJ Diem Huong, expressed that this serves as a great opportunity to network with other radio fans and it is an amazing platform to improve on English Language. The focus in Vietnam will be purely on radio show programming incorporating mainstream music genres in English medium.

Deputy Director-General, DJ Ken Lo, mentioned that 'CHiLL-REX!' has really come a long way in the past three years and hopes to see more of such joint franchise ventures in the region and hinted that London (United Kingdom) may be the next country targeted for venturing. However, he added that it is unlikely the club launches out of the region for now.

Malaysia to launch 'Fresh Voices!' campaign on August 1

'CHiLL-REX!' (Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA): At the recently concluded birthday party event yesterday for one of its corporate associate member of the club, CEO (Malaysia), Jack Yuen announced that he and his crew will kick start the 'Fresh Voices!' campaign first, even before Singapore launches.

This will be Malaysia's debut campaign ever since the base was created as a franchise early this year in 2009. In addition, this will also be Malaysia's first independent large-scale project. Singapore, however, will only launch this campaign in October 2009. The delay will be due to the ongoing conglomeration process it is undergoing which will corporate all its subsidiaries under one roof.

CEO (Singapore), DJ Terence, appended that Malaysia has been given approval to proceed on with the campaign as the conglomeration progress in Singapore has had no effect over there. With the crew now only has four members, CEO (Malaysia) Jack has high hopes to double that current number, for a start, to eight.

Malaysia kick starts its campaign on 1 August 2009.

'CHiLL-REX!' commemorates Singapore's 44th year of independence

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): Singapore turns 44 on 9 August 2009 and it is certainly a grand occasion to mark. As such, 'CHiLL-REX!' has decided to celebrate this event by dedicating a week (3 August - 6 August); by airing national and theme songs of National Day Parade (NDP) on its popular show, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!'.

Deputy Director-General, DJ Ken Lo, added that this is the best opportunity for fans and friends to celebrate this festive occasion and also, it really reflects on how cohesive our society is today.

'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' that week, will focus on the NDP's theme: Reaching Out, Reaching Up and will increase the rotation of national, theme and medley songs on air.

Former Assistant VP rejoins 'CHiLL-REX!' as VP (Club)

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): Former Assistant Vice-President, Koh Quan Zhuan, or better known as his on air presence's name, DJ QZ, has returned to rejoin 'CHiLL-REX!' for good after leaving the club for six months citing heavy commitment issues.

DJ QZ has hosted the inaugural 'JAM IT UP 50!' on New Year's Eve last year and has helmed other shows such as 'JAM 10@10!' and 'Next Generation!'. Under his watchful guidance, he has lead the club to many opportunities when he served as Music Director. He was later promoted to being the club's Assistant Vice-President.

When DJ QZ was contacted over the phone, he expressed, "I think I am ready to return now that I am able to commit. I just have to sort my schedule out and I believe things will get better!".

President & Director-General, DJ Damian, commented that his return to the club was an anticipating one and has waited for this very day to come.

Come 9 August 2009, DJ QZ assumes command as Vice-President for one of the four (Radio, Music, Event, Club) wings, Club.

Crew integrates; Board of Directors reshuffles

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): As the conglomeration between 'CHiLL-REX!' and its subsidiaries are on-going, the crew has decided to integrate together first. Hence, the crew will now consists of members formally from other subsidiaries as well.

Crew members remain unchanged in position but may be promoted as Supervising Officer for senior members. However the biggest change that will happen would be the reshuffling of certain Board of Directors.

For instance, then Vice-President (English Programming), 'CHiLL-REX!', Kenneth Lo, will relinquish that role and be transferred to being the club's Deputy Director-General; assisting the club's President & Director-General, Damian Cheong in his responsibilities.

Likewise, then Vice-President (Mandarin Programming), 'CHiLL-REX!', Tan Ding Xiang, will also relinquish that role and be transferred to being the club's Vice-President (Music), overseeing the entire musical aspects of the club and becoming the club's Senior Music Director.

This change was needed to accommodate the four new wings of the club, in particular to Radio, Music, Event and Club. Currently, the 'Radio' wing is managed by the CEO (Singapore), Terence Goh - as he helms responsibility to the position of a Programme Director (Radio), the 'Music' wing is managed by Vice-President (Music), Ding Xiang while the 'Event' wing is managed by Vice-President (Event), John Yeo.

Deputy Director-General, 'CHiLL-REX!', Kenneth Lo, will temporary cover the duties of the 'Club' wing till a new crew is elected to be in-charge. All crew and board changes will be effective from National Day, 9 August 2009.

CEO (Singapore), Terence Goh, unveiled a new campaign, dubbed 'Fresh Voices!', that will tentatively be launched in October 2009, is in the works and this will see the club attracting new crew members to expand on manpower resources in Singapore as well as in Malaysia and Vietnam.

'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' marks its first anniversary

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): This is a magnificent milestone for the club. The show returns full-fledged tonight as DJ Damian (Damian Cheong) helms the show till Mid-August 2009. The show, entitled 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' airs on 'CHiLL-REX!' from Monday to Thursday nights from 10:10pm to 11:11pm (GMT+08:00).

Touted as the longest-running show in the club's history, this is also 'CHiLL-REX!'s first and only request and dedication show. With the recent hiatus that affected listenership, avid host, DJ Damian is confident that new segments on the popular show will 'woo' listeners back to tune in live on air. The show turns one tonight.

DJ Tan (Ding Xiang), who will tentatively debut on air in late August 2009, is also preparing his relevant materials and doing research for this show which is set to run till 2010, as quoted by a spokesperson from the club.

'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' hosts to return on July 22

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): Till today, radio shows in Singapore have not returned full-fledged and this has caused some uproar with local fans. Currently, Singapore is the only base to have radio programmes streamed via the Internet.

As Sound Engineers of 'CHiLL-REX!' are still in the midst of servicing CHiLL-REX!'s Computer Automated System or 'CASYS', they are also busy with manual overwrites when 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' airs every night.

Host of the popular show, DJ Damian (Damian Cheong) is set to return on the airwaves on Wednesday, 22 July 2009 - exactly one year later since the show first premiered.

Previously, the scheduled return was on 20 July 2009 but the Board of Directors has since confirmed the new date, pushing it two days later - due to a slight delay.

Malaysia resumes full operations as crew member recovers from H1N1

'CHiLL-REX!' (Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA): The affected crew member, who was in stable condition after contracting the H1N1 flu virus has responded well to the Tamiflu treatment and has since fully recovered.

Chairman, 'CHiLL-REX!' (Malaysia), Jack Yuen, reportedly gave a progress update on the situation across the border and asserted that full operations will resume from today, after a long-week break and is looking forward to an upcoming birthday event, to be held at a hotel in Klang, Selangor, for its associate member towards the end of the month.

Unlike the branch in Singapore, the one in Malaysia is dealing solely on events and roadshows. Hence, programmes and productions are crucial to the crew members and the success factor of each event is vital to the overall operations of the club.

CEO, 'CHiLL-REX!', Terence Goh, added that the conglomeration of the club in Singapore has had no effect on the operations over at Malaysia and so far, REX! RADiO has pledged its fullest support to enhance joint ventures while CHiLL FM is still awaiting the confirmation of administrative matters.

Singapore assumes full operations following a five-month hiatus

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): Singapore will assume full operations today following a five-month absence from the radio scene.

Starting today, radio show, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!', will be managed by 'CASYS' till the end of this week when radio deejays return to take shift duties from 20 July 2009. As the 'CASYS' server is still down, sound engineers will be on hand to execute a manual overwrite on its systems.

A spokesperson from the club reiterated that operations will not be affected and radio shows will return as promised.

UK radio fan keen on considering franchising 'CHiLL-REX!'

'CHiLL-REX!' (London, UNITED KINGDOM): Seventeen year-old Dan Savage is from London, United Kingdom and is interested in considering setting up Singapore's 'CHiLL-REX!' over there.

Dan Savage is a fan of Singapore's online music club, 'CHiLL-REX!'. He has always been following radio shows such as former defunct 'NightOut! with Damian' and now, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!'.

President & Director-General, 'CHiLL-REX!', Damian Cheong, responded, "I am at a loss for words as this was totally unexpected. Personally, I know Dan Savage have always been following our shows and occasionally, he would chat with me via instant messaging but who would have imagined he would propose such an idea to me."

He added, "Stay tuned to find out! You never know what partnership can be derived from an avid fan in the UK and one day, who knows, Dan (Savage) could be the Chairman for the UK branch if we were to set up a base over in London. It is definitely going to be exciting!"

A spokesperson from the club also gave an update on the conglomeration progress and noted that one of the sub-factors contributing to the fact that CHiLL FM have to stand down was due to copyright issues it was facing with a radio station of a similar name based in the United Kingdom.

It seems that only time will tell if 'CHiLL-REX!' decides to venture out of the region. If successful, this will be the first time in the club's history to expand out of Asia and into Britain. Currently, 'CHiLL-REX!' is headquartered in Singapore and has one other club based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

CHiLL FM expresses gratitude towards Moblog's departure

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): CHiLL FM has bid goodbye to its alma mater, Moblog. Since CHiLL FM made its debut on the internet, Moblog has always been the number one internet source and portal for publicity.

This comes after Moblog announced plans to terminate its service from 22 July 2009. It is saddening news for CHiLL FM as the station will always remember the joyful times that Moblog has brought upon the crew members.

Five notable CHiLL FM crew members to recognise were the following:

- DJ Wilson (Wilson Lai, then Deputy CEO)

- DJ Deborah (Deborah Peters, then Programme Director)

- DJ Alfred (Alfred Tan, then Music Director)

- DJ Syaza (Syaza Lina, then Promotions Director)

- DJ Riduwan (Muhammed Riduwan, then News Director)

They were pioneers to CHiLL FM and without them, the club would not have come thus far.

As CHiLL FM stand down to make way for the conglomeration with its parent company, 'CHiLL-REX!', memories will always stay on in the hearts and minds of the crew members who once painstakingly dedicated their time and effort to build up the young and jubilant station as it is today.

The station is set to move on as it conglomerates with 'CHiLL-REX!' come 20 September 2009.

'CASYS' server breaks down but operations well on-track as trial run commences

'CHiLL-REX!' (SINGAPORE): Operations here in Singapore is looking good as trial runs began initialising since Thursday, 9 July 2009.

Deputy Director-General of 'CHiLL-REX!', Kenneth Lo, conveyed the following, "We are now confident that we are on-track despite our 'CASYS' (CHiLL-REX!'s Computer Automated System) server breaking down on Wednesday morning. We will monitor our systems and a back-up generator is in place to deal with problems like these."

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CHiLL-REX!, Terence Goh, appended, "Our radio studio is in the midst of slight renovations and alterations, with the studio camera fitting to be done up by Saturday night, to signify that we have revamped and operations here have ramped up."

Presently, trail shows are active and live on air at random times and 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' is set to return on 13 July 2009 with 'CASYS' behind the programme. However, when the show returns from 20 July 2009, it is believed that DJ Damian (Damian Cheong), one of the two presenters, will take full control for the month of July. Rotation between DJ Damian and DJ Tan (Ding Xiang) may tentatively begin in August 2009.

Malaysian crew member down with H1N1

'CHiLL-REX!' (Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA): A member has apparently fallen ill with the H1N1 flu virus.

The report was made by the Chairman, 'CHiLL-REX!' (Malaysia), Jack Yuen on Tuesday afternoon. The affected crew member was on a routine meeting with three other members from the club based in Kuala Lumpur. He had flu-like symptoms, a sore-throat and subsequently developed an on-set of fever. He was admitted to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia via an ambulance.

The rest of the other three members, including Chairman Jack Yuen, has been ordered by President & Director-General, 'CHiLL-REX!', Damian Cheong to take Leave of Absence (LOA) for seven days. Damian Cheong also further commented that all existing operations in Malaysia will be suspended with immediate effect and will only resume on 15 July 2009.

Due to this breaking news, fans and friends of 'CHiLL-REX!' curiously scrambled to find out how 'CHiLL-REX!' (Malaysia) is progressing.

Chairman, 'CHiLL-REX!' (Malaysia), Jack Yuen, responded, "Thus far, we have began simple operations but not in advanced stage yet, as it is in Singapore. We are currently involved in smaller-scale projects and the focus over here at Kuala Lumpur is in event managing and not so much on radio show productions as events have always been our niche area."

"Crew wise, we so far have four strong members and we are still looking out for more. It is not easy because Malaysia is a big place and to congregate at our headquarters at Kuala Lumpur will be a hassle.", he added.

President & Director-General, 'CHiLL-REX!', Damian Cheong, had recently visited Jack Yuen and one other crew member in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia three weeks ago to discuss business operations matters.

This is also the first time 'CHiLL-REX!' (Malaysia) is reporting their progress to the public and Chairman Jack Yuen expressing his first speech is a commendable feature to note as well.

In Singapore, Vice-President (Music), 'CHiLL-REX!', Tan Ding Xiang assured listeners and fans that operations here will still flow as usual with the station re-premiering on the airwaves on 13 July 2009 at 10:10pm (GMT+08:00).

For now, the affected Malaysian crew member with the H1N1 flu virus is said to be recovering well at his home.

Return not a full-fledged one

New reports on the highly-anticipated return of 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' on the airwaves of 'CHiLL-REX!' have surfaced.

A statement from the latest report revealed that when 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' re-premiere on 13 July 2009 at 10:10pm (GMT+08:00), the 61-minute radio show, lasting till 11:11pm (GMT+08:00) for that entire week till 16 July 2009, will be an automated one, controlled by 'CASYS' (CHiLL-REX!'s Computer Automated System).

Therefore, no radio presenter or DJ, will be on hand to handle any music requests and dedications on air. However, the shows will still be supervised and maintained by technical engineers from the club.

One of the two avid hosts of 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!', Ding Xiang suggests that when show hosts are restored back on air, the two hosts, with the other being Damian Cheong, will rotate from time to time.

The exact routine and frequency of the rotation of presenters is unclear. The actual breakdown will only be mapped out when Ding Xiang and Damian meet to discuss programme proposal plans.

Vice-President (Event) of 'CHiLL-REX!', John Yeo, commented, "Since the beginning of the year, there were already blue-prints created to combine as a whole. Thus, the conglomeration is taking too long a time to officiate and the pace should be hasten lest fans and friends forget about us."

Deputy Director-General of 'CHiLL-REX!', Kenneth Lo, reported that the conglomeration of the club is in positive progress and the club is confident that 'CHiLL-REX!' can meet its deadline set by the CEO, Terence Goh, on 20 September 2009.

Nevertheless, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' is scheduled to return on 13 July 2009.

Crew to be integrated; Joint ventures initiated

The members behind 'CHiLL FM' and 'REX! RADiO' have decided to come together to work unitedly as one after being at logger-heads for the past year.

This move comes after 'CHiLL-REX!' announced plans to conglomerate as part of a major corporatization. It was remarkably an odd but positive decision for the club to make.

Come 20 September 2009, both 'CHiLL FM' and 'REX! RADiO' will stand down and operations will traverse swiftly to 'CHiLL-REX!'.

'CHiLL FM' General Manager, Kenneth Lo, who will relinquish his role on September 20 has welcomed the move and hopes that the future plans will remain as a captivating prospect for the club.

At present, 'REX RADiO' Acting General Manager cannot be reached for comments. No spokesperson was available to represent the station.

'CHiLL FM' and 'REX! RADiO' will hold an Appreciation Dinner Party in mid-September 2009 to commemorate on the success of both stations which have served fans and friends for three years and one year respectively.

Both stations have graciously agreed to stand down including transferring and joining all their resources and logistical equipments to 'CHiLL-REX!' from September 20.

'CHiLL-REX!' to conglomerate as a result of a major corporatization

A slew of changes will be expected as part of this year's annual overhaul. Dubbed 'The Next Change', it is a series of revamps 'CHiLL-REX!' undergoes every year to keep up to date with the world of music introducing changes that will be relevant.

'CHiLL-REX!' has so far been through one slight revamp in the first quarter of 2009 but according to the Board of Directors, that was only a trail run for the actual overhaul.

The development in this year's annual overhaul will see CHiLL-REX! shutting down all-time favourite recently-revamped cycling recreational club, 'cubeclubbing' and the newly-launched movie club, 'FreezeRoll!'.

On its web radio wing, CHiLL FM and REX! RADiO will stand down. Subsequently, all manpower and resources will be shifted to accommodate 'CHiLL-REX!'.

This announcement was made two months prior to the actual corporatization so that fans and friends of 'CHiLL-REX!' will not be unduly surprised. However, there are some fans who have already started criticizing the club as being unfaithful to its alma-mater (CHiLL FM).

Chief Executive Officer of 'CHiLL-REX!', Terence Goh, asserted by stating that there will be exciting programmes lined-up when the club break new grounds on 20 September 2009.

Meanwhile, President & Director-General of 'CHiLL-REX!', Damian Cheong is con-currently busy on upcoming projects with the club's partners and plans to further expand the scope of the club by introducing new objectives gradually.

A spokesperson from the club thus elaborated that these changes have minimal relevance to global issues and ruled out that it is neither the current Influenza A (H1N1-2009) pandemic nor the global financial crisis that caused these changes.

The club had added on texts to their logo such as Radio, Music, Event and Club to signify that it has been re-branded to constitute tunes fusing event managing altogether to transform into a miniature club of its own.

Following a slated ground-breaking ceremony this time round, all changes will be effective from 20 September 2009.

'CHiLL-REX!' to make a come-back from July 13

This shocking news excited fans and friends of 'CHiLL-REX!' on Tuesday afternoon.

Sources have claimed that neither the Crew nor the Executive Committee members knew anything about it. It was later revealed that only the Board of Directors knew about it and chose to keep mum about this anticipating news. They disclosed it on June 30 at exactly 12 noon.

As such, when contacted for comment, President and Director-General of 'CHiLL-REX!', Damian Cheong, stated that everyone have been waiting for this golden opportunity and we cannot keep going on a hiatus; also with the passing of Michael Jackson, that has somehow stirred the inner inspiration inside of us to revive 'CHiLL-REX!'.

The date has been set. July 13 will be the re-premiere date for 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' - the only request show on 'CHiLL-REX!' which has gone on a break for close to five months. Other shows like, 'JAM 10@10!' and 'Next Generation!' have no plans to be back on radio for now. It is only the request show that desires the listeners' ears.

CHiLL-REX! to collaborate with ITE College Central's CCA, DJ Club

With ongoing overhauling works the club is still undertaking, more plans have been brought up to facilitate in the expansion and publicity of both clubs, namely, ITE College Central's CCA, DJ Club and us, its Web Radio Partner, CHiLL-REX!.

When contacted for comment, Vice-President for Event Programming of CHiLL-REX!, John Yeo mentioned that this could be a great oppurtunity for both parties and added that it could benefit students who were passionate and interested in this industry.

Meanwhile, President of DJ Club of ITE College Central, Damian Cheong affirmed that the objective of the CCA and CHiLL-REX! was to establish a positive rapport and promote cohesion within the community to promote public and confident speaking through emceeing and deejaying.

The plan is scheduled to start from 4 May 2009 and its soft-launch will debut in the canteen of ITE College Central (Bishan) campus on 30 April 2009 from 1000HRS following a meeting at 1700HRS later for a review.

The official launch will happen some time in Mid-May 2009.

Change of Directors from 23 Feb

At a recent interview with a spokesperson from CHiLL-REX!, he has said that plans are currently on-going to rebrand and revamp the station radio club with mega shows ahead.

A friendly radio personality, Music Director and newly appointed Vice-President (Music), DJ Koh Quan Zhuan (DJ QZ), has recently stepped down from the position and resigned from the club citing heavy commitment issues.

DJ Damian has been appointed as Senior Music Director to fill up the vacant pose and the club, at the moment, is looking out for a new Music Director and a new Promotions Executive Director.

Chief Executive Officer, Terence Goh is the new Chairman of the club and has postive foresight of the club despite the economic downturn which will affect the station's revenue indirectly.

All changes will be effective from Monday, 23 February 2009.

CHiLL-REX! assigns an Assistant Vice-President

With on-going reconstruction, revamping and rebranding works the club is under-taking, measures have been put in place to ensure that the club still operates its day-to-day functions as perfectly as possible.

Though all radio shows have came to a grinding halt, other aspects and operations of the radio station is still hustling with busy activities as the Lunar New Year approaches in a couple of days' time.

As such, current Chief Visionary Officer and General Manager of REX! RADiO, DJ Koh Quan Zhuan or better known as his 'on-air presence's' name, DJ QZ, has been promoted to Assistant Vice-President for Music Directing after serving the crew with one year experience in the radio and music industries.

DJ QZ has been designated this position to aid in the rebranding and revamping of the station together with the management. Previously, he has also held other positions such as being Music Director for a period of eight months. He will officially acknowledge the role on 14 February 2009.

When contacted over the phone, as President of CHiLL-REX!, DJ Damian, is currently on annual leave, he asserted, "DJ QZ has earned his role as Assistant Vice-President because he is able to deliver his duties and knows how to act accordingly; he has always been a creative and a funny radio personality."

At present, apart from DJ QZ being the new Assistant Vice-President for CHiLL-REX!, the club has three executive committee members who are holding on to presidential titles concurrently. They are: -

- KENNETH LO, Vice-President (English Programming)

- TAN DING XIANG, Vice-President (Mandarin Programming)

The next event for CHiLL-REX! will be on 31 January 2009 as the club host a birthday celebration for an associate member of the club. A spokesperson for the club has commented that by then, DJ Damian will return from his annual leave.

Shows on CHiLL-REX! approaches a halt

All regular, primetime, fortnightly and monthly shows have come to a major stand-still as of Monday, 19 January 2009.

Chief Executive Officer and Vice-President (English Programming), DJ Kenneth Lo reportedly explained that all shows, in particular, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' and 'Next Generation!', which received the highest listenership ratings, have gone on a hiatus citing management changes and the revamping changes the club is facing.

Chief Visionary Officer, DJ QZ assured listeners of CHiLL-REX! that the shows are scheduled to return from 15 February 2009 right after the annual protocol - the hand-over ceremony the Board of Directors is conducting.

President of CHiLL-REX!, Damian Cheong, is currently on annual leave till 30 January 2009.

CHiLL-REX! in planning stages to launch Satellite Radio

CHiLL-REX! has all the while been broadcasting its programmes live on air via Internet Web Radio Systems. With the ever-changing technology so rapidly advancing, the club has decided to upgrade its systems for the better.

Currently in planning stages, the whole process of evolving from an Internet Radio Station System to a Satellite Radio Station System will take as long as up to 6 months. Though it may sound simple, the technology behind it is drastic and highly sophisticated as it uses Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB).

Should CHiLL-REX! choose to offer DAB to its listeners, the listening pleasure would be so much desirable as there is no 'cut-off' signal and the quality is crystal clear.

More detailed updates to come when the station rebrands itself from 14 February 2009. According to a spokesperson from the club, the intended duration for the revamps and rebranding of the station will take up to a month. No exact date was given as to when the station will be launched again but the targeted date is 15 March 2009.

CHiLL-REX! announces newly appointed CEO

CHiLL-REX! has made a decision to appoint Terence Goh as the new CEO of the club.

Terence, who was with CHiLL-REX! before for a couple of months took up positions such as being General Manager of REX! RADiO as well as Chief Knowledge Officer in the year 2007.

In early 2008, he took a break from radio as he wanted to pursue other interests. Through his experience in radio, his ultimate passion still stays on with music.

President of CHiLL-REX!, Damian Cheong appended, "It is to our great satisfaction that we welcome Terence back to the family and he certainly is capable of bringing the club to a higher level. We are proud to have him lead us in 2009 and the years beyond!"

Current Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth Lo's contract ends on 31 January 2009 and come 14 February 2009, Terence Goh will take over from Kenneth Lo as CEO. Damian Cheong will be the Acting CEO from 1 February 2009 to 13 February 2009.

Meanwhile, most shows on CHiLL-REX! have come to a stand-still due to the massive overhaul and rebranding changes and no reports have suggested when the shows will be back on air again.

CHiLL-REX! to announce newly appointed CEO soon

CHiLL-REX! will be appointing a new crew member to be its Chief Executive Officer as early as 1 February 2009. Currently, Kenneth Lo holds the title but his contract ends on 31 January 2009. After that, Damian Cheong will be the Acting CEO.

By CHiLL-REX!'s protocol, the annual hand-over ceremony will take place on Valentine's Day, 14 February 2009 every year, without fail. As such, this year is no exception.

A spokesperson from the club reassured fans and listeners of CHiLL-REX! that this new crew, who will be the new CEO, will already have the experience in the radio and music industry upon joining the club.

The newly appointed CEO will take over the management tentatively from 14 February 2009.

'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' set to relinquish all-time popular segment "Are You Mad?!"

CHiLL-REX! has released reports on the sudden decision to forgo popular segment, "Are You Mad?!" citing poor reviews.

The popular segment was first introduced on 22 July 2008 to complement the show, 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' on top of its debut premiere. Initially, the main objective was to add spice to the show to bring it to a higher level.

But statistics from the Programme Department analysed that it has failed to achieve its desired target and wants something new for a change. The segment is a series of topics talk show where the show's host engage their listeners to be a part of it by sharing their views. The topics were always conceptualized by the CHiLL-REX! crew and has never been offered to the listeners for their suggestions.

"'Are You Mad?!' has been a good interactive segment for me", responded by one of CHiLL-REX!'s regular listener. It could be poor reviews from critics that left the Board of Directors with the hasty decision.

DJ Damian, host for 'MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!' affirmed, "The show will still go on with or without a certain segment as it is unfair to call off the show just because of a segment which has been ceased. Who knows, there may be a new segment popping out just like that!".

CHiLL-REX! rebrands itself incorporating all major subsidiaries

CHiLL-REX! will be rebranded come 15 March 2009. As the management continues to brainstorm more options for the advancement of the club, President of CHiLL-REX!, Damian Cheong, has announced the following changes.

1) CHiLL-REX!'s tagline will be changed from "Where Music Comes Alive!" to "Where Music Fuses Events!". CHiLL-REX! will be transformed into an Events club.

2) CHiLL FM will take over all shows and operations formerly from CHiLL-REX!. CHiLL FM's tagline will not be changed and will remain as "Music & Hits!". This station will play Top 40 Hits and contemporary radio hits.

3) REX! RADiO, a secondary station, will be focusing on Club and Dance hits. Incoroporating other hits from mixed genres and various languages, this station will be re-launched again in Mid-2009.

4) Other subsidiaries such as 'cubeclubbing' (Cycling Club), 'FreezeRoll' (Movie Club) and 'CHiLL Cool; REX! Rocks' (Fan Club) will be on hiatus till further notice.

CHiLL-REX! to undergo massive overhaul to become an Events firm

CHiLL-REX! has decided to do something different for the new year. A face-lift is requisite for the advancement of CHiLL-REX!

President of CHiLL-REX!, Damian Cheong, stated in a report consolidated under the Annual Report 2008 that this project has been in talks since August 2008 but failed to execute plans for it citing busy radio shows management.

DJ Damian also added, "Through our statistics for the year 2008, we realised that listenership has not met our targets we set in the earlier part of the year. As such, we have to seriously consider other options rather than being stuck in a confuse situation as to whether or not our radio shows will rise to prominence in the near future. We have decided to pursue event managing fusing music altogether."

Chief Visionary Officer, DJ QZ, expressed in a statement, "We need to engage more listeners or people to join and be a part of CHiLL-REX!".

"MUSiCMANiAC-NESS!", a highly touted show of CHiLL-REX! is scheduled to resume tomorrow, 12 January 2009 at 10:10pm (Singapore Time) and this brought fans of the club to contemplate on the show's progression. However, when questioned by regular listeners of CHiLL-REX!, the avid host of the show, DJ Damian, refused to comment further. The airing of tomorrow's show is set to 'play by ear', according to one of the club's spokesperson.

Chief Operating Officer, Tan Ding Xiang was appointed as CEO of CHiLL-REX! from 14 February 2009 after Kenneth Lo contract ends on 31 January 2009 but he declined the offer and the role is now left vacant.

CEO of CHiLL-REX!, Kenneth Lo, is dubious about the advancement of the club and is considering recruiting more people into CHiLL-REX!. DJ Damian Cheong has been appointed as the Acting CEO from 14 February 2009 by the Board of Directors till a new crew takes over his pose.
